I had looked at more popular brands for espresso machines, but decided on kitchenaid because I have many of their other products and the quality of product and customer care is outstanding. The machine has been easy for me to use as a former barista, but I wouldn't recommend it for those without the experience or urge to learn and play with it. It's not hard to use, but the knowledge makes a difference IMO. The machine is gorgeous; after days of debate we settled on the black to match our other counter top appliances. I really wish they had done the ice blue, BUT the black is seriously easier to keep clean. The espresso is fantastic; yes the roast matters, stop saying it's just a marketing ploy. The machine is quick to warm up and even my "failed" attempts have created creamy foam. We have used cow and goats milk with excellent results, we have not tried any other options. The water tank lasts us 2 to 3 days, mind you we are doing MANY lattes a day. I top up the tank each morning with fuktered water so we never have sit and wait for the fridge to refill the piter multiple times. Be aware it tall, it's maybe 2 inches from touching our cabinets above, but it's very smooth to pull out from under. We had no issues with static when grinding beans, I'm currently using preground I found on amazon. Coffee is naturally quite static once it's been through a grinder, it got EVERYWHERE we would grind for customers, so I'm very impressed with the minimal mess. My only complaint is I drink more lattes now than ever, but I'm saving money and losing pounds skipping the drive thru.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug The Slug from Incredible New Machine I am really loving the new semi automatic espresso machine. I have used other brands in the past and like this one quite a bit more than others. The grinder is SUPER quiet and doesn’t scatter grounds across my counter, they also are nice and fine - not clumped together. I found it quite simple to dial in the right settings for my coffee and get the extraction in the target range. I like that you can easily change temperatures and adjust the water volume for the hot water output.

Beautiful looking, quiet running, consistent and has a fantastic steam wand. The only strike against it is that the product on-boarding process is uneven such that I was left wondering if it had been fully thought through. Vague setup instructions in the manual made worse by what happens if you accidentally put the machine into cleaning mode. Unclear how to order more water filters, as this new model is still missing from the relevant webpage. Same issue applies for the page meant to show you where to find product serial numbers.These are easily fixable issues. Hope that Kitchenaid reads this and acts promptly.
