However, I have had to stop using it with this attachment, and I used this attachment for so many things. The silver plating has worn off (and I have only ever hand washed it). If the connecting piece touches anything, a dark gray/black charcoal looking residue rubs off onto it. This can't be good!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ambs from Disgusting Residue Straight out of Box I recently purchased this stand mixer (600 Profession Bowl Lift) as a graduation gift to myself. First and foremost, the stand mixer was greasy, (I don't know if that is normal) when I pulled the lever down to let the bowl down, there was this big log of yellow grease between where it goes up and down (again, I don't know if this is normal. Now what really bothered me is the whip, power knead, and flat beater. Unboxing, none of those tools were shiny, it was already "oxidized" and disgusting gray residue was being left only hand, I did not get a chance to use my mixer yet because I just received it in the mail today. I will not use my mixer with these tools because I am very afraid that it may get into my mixes as it does my hand. This seems very unsanitary and it is just not tolerable AT ALL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by bmkiss67 from Black Residue and Cracked The mixer is 6 months old, Christmas gift, and this is the first time we used the wire whisk. All we did is use it to make whip cream. The connector of the whisk, where it connecters to the mixer, has a lot of black residue and it has a crack in it right along the top rim. Would love to start using it more often but worried that it will end up in pieces in the bowl while being used. Is there going to be a better model of this whisk coming out soon?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Love to Bake from Not usable after a few months The finish of the head or connector at the top of the whip comes off so badly that it blackens your hand and anything it touches. It would be unsafe if food came up against it, I would say. I consider this a defect and wouldn't even buy the machine again. If newer models didn't have this issue, I would recommend it to a friend. Note that this model is too big to whip a couple of egg whites as it doesn't reach the bottom in a wide enough sweep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by lovetobake from Tough decision ... Metallic substance rubs off from the part of the whip (aluminum) which attaches to the mixer. The wires are stainless steel though so are fine. I see the newer models are all stainless steel & really want that. But now I'm caught with a tough decision...buy a new whip which will eventually have metallic substance rub off or just buy a newer model when I spent hundreds to buy my current mixer??
