Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Poor Beater, Great Mixer! I bought my mixer brand new about 4 years ago. The mixer itself works fine but the issues are with the flat beater. As everyone has been saying, the enamel chips off. The enamel on mine started chipping off recently. Now, I feel it's not safe to use as I don't want to hurt anyone or make them sick. This is insane, when I saw all of the same complaint in your reviews I was quite disturbed. You've been around for decades and cannot manage to fix this issue. Highly disappointed. If it weren't for this and the fact that I'm unable to replace it I would have given a much higher rating. At this point I would only recommend it to anyone with a warning!

My son gave me a Kitchen Aid bowl-lift Stand Mixer a few year ago and I really like it, however the enamel on the flat beater is chipping off. I’ve only used it maybe 20 times and feel that it must be defective. The enamel is bubbling on the other side also. I have never put it in the dishwasher and was always careful with it. I no longer want to use it as I’m afraid that the enamel will drop into the food and I don’t want to poison anyone. I was very disappointed when my husband notice the chips while he was washing it.

I've called to replace it with stainless steel but there is nothing available for the 6 qt mixer. I can't even buy this awful one as they are out of stock, making my mixer useless. Customer service was no help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by antb from Poor quality paint on flat mixer 3 year old lift stand mixer. Paint on flat beater chipping really badly. Treated gently,never banged or put in dishwasher and used occassionally. Obvious manufacturing defect but only answer from kitchenAid is its out of warranty.
