We are currently dealing with a boil water order so I figured since it's dishwasher safe, may as well toss it in. It tarnished and all the coating came off. After a couple washes in the dishwasher, it no longer will go onto my mixer. It's like the lubricant or something is gone. My other accessories like the beater and dough hook go on with no problem. Very upset and disappointed as I use this so often. Works great, just don't put it in your dishwasher

My white one is chipped and leaves a grey residue on my food so I can no longer use it. I found out that the white paddle attachment contains lead and is dangerous to use when chipped. I am so angry that I have to pay to replace a defective product. I wonder how long I was poisoning my family before I found out about the lead. Is the grey residue that ends up in my mixes lead? How has kitchen aid not fixed this problem? Now I am wondering if this stainless steel option is any better after reading these reviews. Kitchen aid…. Do the right thing and recall these unsafe products and make it right by exchanging with safe attachments. Kitchen aid has been my go to for all appliances for 20 years. Now I will never buy another kitchen aid product or recommend them to others. I can not trust that they are safe.

Yes, I have fact checked this claim. Unsafe for use in food for sure! How’s Will kitchenaid make this up to me and my family and many other users around the world. I expect high quality when we pay for high value products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by kookie from I've been baking for 50 years... but no matter what, when I use the flat beater the batter at the bottom NEVER gets mixed in properly! I paid $350 for this mixer 4 years ago & I NEVER use it for this very reason. I bought it in 2016. Any suggestions??

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from I love my KitchenAid BUT the flat beater tarnished I bought the 6 Quart Kitchenaid hand mixer in 2018. I love it but I recently have been baking a lot because of COVID-19. I use the all different hand attachments I even have the pasta hand attachment. Yesterday I put the flat beater in the dishwasher and had no idea that it was going to come out all tarnished. I am so upset. I went to the KitchenAid manual and read that I can try to clean with an oxidized cleaning agent. I boiled water and vinegar and put the flat beater in it, but it still leaks grey. Then I soaked it in bleach but it still leaks grey. I am very disappointed as I realize that lots of people are having the same problem
