Rated 2 out of 5 by Lotsofbakinggoingon from No 'screw' next to the dough hook Reviewer "Fixinstuff" mentions a screw that is next to where the dough hook is inserted that 'lowers and lifts' but I can't find this screw. Furthermore, our dough hook is chipping at the bottom of the hook blade which is nowhere near the top where it attaches. So chipping is definitely a problem regardless of how the hook is attached to the mixer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by kneady from Poor product very disappointed This is my second dough hook. The coating is chipping off just like happened on the first one. It does not touch the bowl it is just a poor product with the coating. The coating is also chipping off my flat beater. It is off in multiple places on both. I have only ever handwashed them and kept them carefully. I would never purchase a coated product like this again. Why do they not only make or sell stainless steel for these?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Roberto48 from Worst Kitchen Aid Accessories Ever I bought a Professional HD Stand Mixer with a dough hook, a paddle and a wire wisk. Nowhere was a warning not to wash in a dishwasher and the aluminum formed a dark surface the comes off on my hands and in my mixtures. A stupid comment mentions that there is no risk of lead! Generally, lead and aluminum are not miscible as a metal but there is no excuse for this. Stainless steel or powder coated attachments should be readily available, good luck in finding them. DO NOT BUY A MIXER, STAND OR TILT HEAD!

Rated 1 out of 5 by LisaRT83 from Peeling Dough Hook My wife absolutely loves her Professional 5 Plus mixer, and while most of the attachments work fine, the paint is peeling from the dough hook as you can see in the photos below. She took the time to write a letter to KitchenAid Customer Experience Centre on January 17, 2020 @ 200-6750 Century Ave., Mississauga, ON, and has not heard back. Based on the other three reviews of this particular product, it appears that the finish is faulty. The serial number is W53535827 and the model number is 4KV25H0XER. Hopefully someone will be able to assist in securing a replacement for us.
