Even though it was tempting to turn the speed up, I kept it at the recommended speed. I did see online a metal version is available as an option too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Electric Meat from Excellent addition to the kitchen I've had mine for several years now. Found it to be sturdy and durable. Makes the best ground beef around, and the fresh home ground stuff beats store-bought by a country mile! Best burgers ever. We don't buy ground meat at the store anymore.

We noticed that during the process that there was this grey/black colour coming off and stcking to the meat. I used it today after a few months of not using and noticed that it was worse, that big alot of the grey/black was coming out. After I noticed that the spiral had grease all over it and the inside round has black little dots. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lweb87 from Flew off my machine Used this for the first time yesterday and a piece snapped off and it flew off my machine. I have loved and used a KitchenAid mixer for years. I received this attachment as a gift and was so excited to use it. I wish I would have read the reviews before trying it out because it flew off my machine taking the front cover flap with it. The only thing I am fortunate for is that it flew in the opposite direction of my Infant daughter and I as it could have cause a serious injury. I will be returning this and getting the all metal version as it has much better reviews.
