Ensures ingredients remain fresh for maximum taste and texture using a sensor-controlled system with a variable-capacity compressor. There is one thermistor in the freezer and one thermistor in the refrigerator.

We don't use the ice maker feature: 1) we don't use ice enough to justify its use; 2) I don't like the notion that water will be sitting in the tubes between uses. Sans ice maker--everything about this fridge/freezer is great! I esp. like the crisper drawer, veg. keeper and cheese keeper.
